Stunning Salisbury Cathedral

Our Chicago friends Juanny & Amanda made a special trip to visit us in England after their romantic Italy trip...they got engaged there!! It was such fun to celebrate with them. We took them all around Winchester, to Stonehenge and the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral...It is such a site...standing all on its own.
The inside garden...there was a flower bouquet competition at the Cathedral...perfect timing to give Amanda ideas for their upcoming wedding...it was really beautiful!

34 1/2 weeks Prego and feeling great!

And the nesting begins...Papa Bear setting up our little guy's crib...

So the day of putting together the baby's crib begins with smiles. At least he attempted to look at the directions this time...ha!
Things began to get a little hairy...

Confusion, frustration and the tossing out of directions (and maybe a couple naughty words) occurred...

But in the end it all seemed to come together! Great job daddy! :) The nursery is not complete yet...we still have some Chicago themed artwork that we are getting framed...so stay tuned for the finished version soon...

Crib is all set for our little man to arrive...ooooohhhh we can not wait! It is amazing how much you can love someone before even meeting them!!! He is going to be one LOVED baby!!!

We are 30 weeks prego!!

We decided to do the 4D scan of our little guy at 30 weeks. WOW! It was so much fun to see him in such incredible detail! He is so content. He was getting ready for a little nap and we got to watch him get all comfy. He yawned and rubbed his eyes at one point too. He had his arms and hands all nuzzled up by his face. It is so mind blowing how in love you can be with someone you have not even met yet. We are sooo excited to meet him but for now he is enjoying his time in mama's belly. Hollis at 30 weeks...feeling great!
Mama + Papa

We think he is beautiful...but don't all parents think that of their own. Love those big lips (taking after his daddy).

Here is his little yawn. Sooo cute!

Our last day in Italy...day trip to Almafi Coast.

We met some London friends who were also visiting Italy in the Almafi Coast for the day...it was beautiful there! We are gleaming at 27 weeks pregnant! Can't wait to bring our first child into this world and share so many wonderful experiences with him. We celebrated our 2 year Anniversary the weekend after we got home from Italy. What an unbelievable two years it has been. We are more in love with each other each day...and we are excited to pour that love into our growing family!

Lemon trees are EVERYWHERE in Italy...so is Limoncello...Sean is obsessed with making our own batch soon! We will keep you posted on that...
Stunning Cathedral in downtown Almafi. We had lunch on the sidewalk directly across from it. The church bells were sounding throughout our lunch. We also took the tour of the inside which was beautiful.

Leave it to a "guy" to stumble across this water fountain. HA. Sure enough all of our water bottles were overflowing with water after this stop! :)

Stunning views of the Almafi Coast. Our Italy Babymoon was without words one of our favorite trips. It was fun to relax as a couple and take in the loveliness of Italy together. VERY romantic and perfect to share before the arrival of our new bundle of joy! HAPPY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY to us!

The City of Pompeii, Italy

We took a train from Sorrento to Pompeii for a day trip...and WHAT A CITY IT WAS!!! Might have been one of our favorite tours of our babymoon trip. It is a fascinating city...destroyed by Mt Vesuvius volcano in 79 AD leaving the entire city covered in ash. From beginning to end of the eruption it just took 24 hours...so now the ruins of this city are still pretty intact which was unbelievable to see...paintings still on walls of homes, plumbing, cobblestone roads, kitchen tiling still in place...such a cool place to experience! Sean in the heart of the city of Pompeii with Mt Vesuvius erie presence looming in the background.
Here was one of the mummified people of Pompeii's volcano eruption. It took the whole city by surprise and they were suffocated by the ash that fell. Around 20,000 people dies in the eruption...about 6,000 escaped.

This was a doormat on the front of one of the Pompeii homes made of tile that reads "Beware of Dog". Look how perfectly intact it still is sooo many years later.

Inside one of the larger homes in Pompeii. The mosaic tiling and paintings on the walls were still in very good shape and amazing to see...this home hard a garden courtyard too.

The people of Pompeii even had their own Coliseum for entertainment. It is still in excellent shape.

Our babymoon continues to Sorrento, Italy...

We traveled from Rome on Easter to Sorrento...it was an eventful travel day...let's just say trains, taxis, a boat, lots of walking and we finally made it!! And it was well worth the trip... Sean on the boat ride from Napoli to Sorrento. We took in the beautiful scenic route. Italy is truly a breathtaking country!
Arriving in Sorrento.

The Port of Sorrento...little did we know we would have to walk up a zillion stairs (thank goodness for my fit hubbie!!) and massive hills to our hotel on the top of a hill. It was a good hike and well worth it as the views were stunning.

Downtown Sorrento...our first day here. It was sunny and beautiful out. Hollis loves her "minis"...well it is really a Fiat but very mini still...

Hollis @ 26.5 weeks prego on our hotel's roof deck taking in the views of Mt. Vesuvius, Naples in the distance.

And our adventures continue in Rome...

We had such a great trip in Rome...probably walked about 10miles this day all around touring Rome. It was such a wonderful day! Sean with the Spanish Steps in the background...

We took the tour of the Vatican. It was so amazing! A must see...

St Peter's Square...they were preparing for the Pope for Easter Sunday. It was sooo busy with lots of nuns and priest from all over the world in for the holiday day.

Hollis in St Peter's Square...

Our last night in Rome was so romantic. We stumbled across this quaint Italian restaurant on one of our favorite streets. It was like they knew we were coming and reserved the best seat in the house for us. The food was to die for...We love Rome! Now we are off to Sorrento...

Our Babymoon...First Stop-Rome, Italy!

We decided that we should take one last BIG trip (Our Babymoon) prior to our new addition. We booked our babymoon to Italy. It was so romantic and wonderful to take in the sites together. We were 26-27 weeks prego. Hollis felt great the whole trip. Walked for miles and miles each day taking in the sites. You can't stop this pregnant lady from having a fun filled trip! Before we even left the country we were already missing it...the food, the wine (Hollis even got to enjoy a sip or two!), the people, the fashion, the language, the sightseeing...LOVED IT ALL! The weather forecast was suppose to be sunny but instead we got cool, overcast days with rain here and there...still didn't damper our spirits or the trip in the slightest. We went to Rome, Sorrento, Pompei and the Almafi Coast...We will be back...and next time ALL 3 of us...our growing little family! Hollis @ the Coliseum 26 weeks prego.
Inside the Coliseum. So amazing...

Hollis at the Pantheon.

Hollis making her wish at the Trevi Fountain.

Sean making his wish...funny thing is we both were concentrating so much on tossing our coins over our shoulders that we forgot to actually make our wish. HA! The fountain was stunning. The water was so crystal clear.
