Cheerio...that's a cereal???

I do love the Honey Nut Cheerio's!!! BUT...this word "Cheerio" takes it to another level! I mean who doesn't love that little bee who pours honey on the oats. I mean the oats become so sweet and the cereal becomes on everyone's top ten list of breakfast choices. So here in England it is an actual word...yes, that is right...Cheerio! Means thank you, have a nice day, good bye...kind of all the above. To take you back a bit in time...my 3rd grade teacher was British, Mrs. Borgman. LOVED her. She said things like rubbish, trolley(bus), mum,etc etc...I loved her! School was such a treat! She introduced me to this amazing word of "Cheerio". Oh how I used that one around the playground...well no one quite knew what I meant. They'd give me a turn on the slide or monkey bars and I would say "Cheerio"...they would look at me like I had a snack for them. So fast forward...I CAN ACTUALLY use this word now in passing. HOW AMAZING!!! It is such a happy word, I mean if a word can be happy. So here we go, let me practice:
"Cheerio for today". That worked great, thanks for letting me practice my new word. I will have more to practice here on you...stay tuned. But for now, I just smile each time that word comes up and think of dear Mrs. Borgman.
